PARISH NOTES
SUNDAY 12 JUNE 2016
Tadeo Gaddi, Magdalene Washing the Feet of Jesus Santa Croce, Florence, 1360s |
FROM THE RECTOR
Apart from the intrinsic value of worshiping God and receiving the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood which makes coming to Mass worthwhile at any time, this Sunday at S. Stephen's at 10 am promises to be a joyful and festive occasion in three ways. We shall be administering the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. We shall be recognizing and honoring our Sunday School students and teachers. And we shall have our annual Parish Barbecue. Don't miss it. -- Fr. John D. Alexander
THIS SUNDAY’S READINGS

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Welcome to all visitors and guests – we’re glad that you’re here. Please join us in our Great Hall after the 10 am Mass for our annual parish barbecue. All are welcome and invited to attend.
Eucharistic Adoration – This Saturday 18 June, the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament will sponsor approximately an hour of silent prayer and meditation in the Lady Chapel before the Blessed Sacrament, beginning shortly after the end of the 9:30 am Mass, and concluding by 11 am. All are welcome and invited to participate.
Coffee Hour Contributions – We regret that owing to new diocesan regulations concerning the handling of cash in parishes, we are no longer able to receive donations at Coffee Hour for coffee, food, and supplies. The donations basket will no longer be available. We thank all those who have contributed to this important ministry. Those who wish to make donations to help defray Coffee Hour expenses are welcome to put a check in the collection plate during Mass, or mail a check to the parish office, with the notation “Coffee Hour” clearly marked in the memo line.
Goodwill Industries – There is a clothing collection box in the Great Hall for the next few weeks on behalf of Goodwill Industries. One of their objectives is helping people in need to find employment, and to that end, they are accepting donations of clothing suitable for job interviews. If you have anything you can contribute, please bring it.
