Welcome to S. Stephen’s – especially to our visitors and guests! We’re glad to have you with us. Please join us for Coffee Hour following the 10 a.m. Mass in the Great Hall upstairs. If you have any questions or special needs, please speak to one of the ushers, who will be glad to assist you.

A Warm Welcome – to the Rev. Canon Linda Grenz, who will be assisting at both Masses this morning. She will also be joining the discussion at the Forum with the Wardens (see announcement below).

Forum with the Wardens – At the Coffee Hour following the Mass, please join the Wardens, Fr. Mead, and Canon Grenz in the Great Hall to ask any questions you may have as the parish undergoes this time of transition.

Saint Barnabas the Apostle (June 11) – a major feast of the church year will be kept this Tuesday with Noonday Prayer at 12 noon, and Low Mass following at 12:10 pm.

Vestry Meeting – The Vestry will meet in the Parish Library on Tuesday 11 June at 7 pm for its monthly meeting.

Monthly Commemoration of the Departed – whose year’s mind falls during June will be offered Saturday 15 May at 10 am (preceded by Morning Prayer at 9:30 am). If you have any names to add to those to be remembered, please let Jacob Ihnen know. This Mass is sponsored by the Guild of All Souls, St. Stephen Protomartyr Branch: all are welcome and invited to attend!

Annual Parish Barbecue – will be on Sunday 23 June in the Great Hall, immediately following the 10 am Solemn Mass. We need volunteers to coordinate, help set up, to bring food and beverages, to work the grill, and to clean up. To volunteer for any of these roles, please see Karl and Klara Benziger and/or see the sign-up sheets in the Great Hall and Narthex.

Sunday School Recognition – Also on Sunday 23 June at the 10 am Solemn Mass, we will recognize the students and teachers who participated in the Sunday School program this year. Please make every effort to attend.

Pentecost 2019 Issue of The S. Stephen – is available online for viewing on the parish website. This issue includes features on Shusako Endo's novel Silence, Saint Stephen's patrimony today, a farewell letter from outgoing Rector Fr. John Alexander, a letter from the Wardens introducing the new Priest-in-Charge, James Busby's Quodlibet; and a reflection from Nancy Gingrich on "Transitions" in life and death. Hard copies have been mailed, and additional copies may be picked up in the Narthex.

George Street Construction – George St. will be closed during weekday business hours from 30 May until mid-August and parking between Thayer St. and Brown St. with no vehicle access to either the front or rear driveway. Parking on George St. will be restricted to 3 spots at each end. These will be marked “reserved for S. Stephen's.” If you are attending a noontime weekday Mass or have business in the church office, please get a "S. Stephen's Parking Pass" from the office and place it on your dashboard if you use these spots. George St. will reopen to two-way traffic around 4 pm each day, including access to our driveways for evenings and weekends.
