ONLINE PARISH NOTES
SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER 2015
Simone Martini, Saint Luke, 1330s |
FROM THE RECTOR
When a major Saint's Day falls on a Sunday during the "green season" of Sundays after Pentecost, a.k.a. "Ordinary Time," the Prayer Book gives us permission to substitute the "Collect, Preface, and one or more of the Lessons appointed for the Feast ... for those of the Sunday" (p. 16). Accordingly, this Sunday we are keeping the Feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist, author of the Gospel according to Saint Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. It is a great joy and privilege to be able to celebrate these feasts of the Saints at our Sunday Masses. Please join us. -- Fr. John D. Alexander
