PARISH NOTES
SUNDAY 8 MAY 2016

Mosaic of Christ Ascending
Evangelical Church of the Ascension, Mount of Olives, Jerusalem

FROM THE RECTOR

The Seventh Sunday of Easter, also known as Sunday in Ascensiontide, marks an in-between time. The Risen Lord has ascended into heaven. Together with the Blessed Virgin Mary, the disciples return to Jerusalem to wait and pray for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. This Sunday we shall begin the 10 am Mass with an outdoor procession of Our Lady. In this way, we join our prayers with the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints that God will send down the Holy Spirit upon his Church  to empower it to continue faithfully in its mission to the ends of the earth. -- Fr. John D. Alexander
