Trinity Sunday, Year C

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Flowers – at the High Altar are given to the glory of God, by Brian Ehlers.

Brown Commencement Sunday – Next Sunday, 29 May, we will offer our customary round of services: Morning Prayer at 7:30 am, followed by Low Mass at 8 am, and Solemn Mass at 10 am. Please note there will be no 10 am Coffee Hour due to a Brown departmental ceremony being held in the Great Hall. You should be able to find parking within a few blocks of the church, but please note that there will be no parking allowed on George Street between Prospect and Thayer Streets. If you wish to drop someone off, please note that traffic on George Street will be one way from the west between Brown and Thayer only. The stretch between Benefit and Brown Streets will be blocked off, so you must approach from Brown Street.

Church Sitting – We are seeking volunteers who are willing to come on Friday 27 May and Saturday 28 May to sit in the church so that we may keep it open for visitors. If you would like to serve, please let us know by sending email or calling the parish office at 421-6702, ext. 1.

Feast of the Visitation – On Tuesday 31 May, the clergy and people of St. John’s, Newport, will join us to celebrate the Visitation with Solemn High Mass at 6 pm here at S. Stephen’s. Our Guest preacher will be the Rev. Stephanie Shoemaker.

EMBR – The Episcopal Ministry at Brown & RISD (EMBR) concludes for the year this Sunday and will resume in September. The group has met on Sundays during the past academic year for Evensong, supper, and a discussion of Saint Augustine's Confessions. Sincere thanks to parishioners who provided meals. Be on the lookout in the fall for opportunities to support this ministry!

Change to Daily Mass Schedule – Following Memorial Day, the weekly Mass schedule will change: Tuesday and Thursday Low Masses will now be held at 12:10 pm, preceded by the Angelus at noon. All other service times will remain the same. (Please note that on Memorial Day we will have Morning Prayer and Low Mass at the customary holiday times of 9 & 9:30 am.)

Annual Parish Barbecue – will be on Sunday 12 June in the Great Hall, immediately following the 10 am Solemn Mass. We need volunteers to coordinate, help set up, to bring food and beverages, to work the grill, and to clean up. To volunteer for any of these roles, please see Karl or Klara Benziger, Sue Brazil, Nancy Gingrich, or Cory MacLean.

Sunday School Recognition – On Sunday 12 June at the 10 am Sung Mass, we will recognize the students and teachers who participated in the Sunday School program this year. Please make every effort to attend.

Goodwill Industries – There is a clothing collection box in the Great Hall for the next few weeks on behalf of Goodwill Industries. One of their objectives is helping people in need to find employment, and to that end, they are accepting donations of clothing suitable for job interviews. If you have anything you can contribute, please bring it.
