PARISH NOTES
Sunday 6 November 2016
Jan Van Eyck, Adoration of the Lamb From the Ghent Altarpiece, 1430-32 |
FROM THE RECTOR
During the month of November, we reflect liturgically on the mystery of the Communion of Saints: the fellowship enjoyed by all the members of Christ's Body in the Church Militant, the Church Expectant, and the Church Triumphant. We celebrate and rejoice with the saints in heaven on All Saints Day; we mourn the dead and pray for the faithful departed on All Souls Day. "For all are one in thee, and all are thine, alleluia!"
Note: A combination of unavoidable circumstances -- some happy, some less happy -- resulted in the late posting of this online installment of Parish Notes. We hope it is not too late to convey some useful information about what's going on.
