ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to S. Stephen’s – especially to our visitors and guests! We’re glad to have you with us. Please join us for Coffee Hour following the 8 am Mass in the Narthex and following the 10 a.m. Mass in the Great Hall upstairs. If you have any questions or special needs, please speak to one of the ushers, who will be glad to assist you.

Joining us with small children? – We are so glad you are here! Our Sunday School program and nursery care are on hiatus for the summer, but if parents and small children need a break during Mass, please feel free to use the nursery. The ushers can direct you.

Sunday Morning Prayer/Low Mass Venue Change – Today, Sunday 18 August, Morning Prayer and Low Mass will be said in the chancel of the church proper. Please seat yourself in the choir stalls as you arrive.

Summer Recital – Today, Sunday 18 August, at 2 pm, our own Schola member, Bodie Pfost, presents Prothímia Suavissima: A concert of seventeenth-century chamber music for violins, sackbuts, and organ by Castello, Cima, Césare, Biber, and Bertali. This recital is in partial fulfillment of his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University. Free and open to the public!

My S. Stephen’s Ministry: Tom BledsoeOne of my ministries is volunteering at the Epiphany Soup Kitchen when it is S. Stephen's opportunity to serve. Coming face-to-face with those without reliable sources for life's most basic needs and helping them has helped keep me stay grounded in the realities of life for many in our community. If you are interested in assisting with this ministry, talk to Tom or contact Bruce Lennihan after Mass or by email at michelleisgreat@gmail.com.

Saint Bartholomew the Apostle (August 24th) – a major feast of the church year will be kept this Saturday with Morning Prayer at 9:30 am, and Low Mass following at 10 am.

Get to know our Interim Rector and the Bible! – Please consider joining Fr. Mead and others from the parish with an informative and entertaining trip through the Acts of the Apostles. The group meets on Sundays in the library from 9 until 9:45 am.

Unable to get to Mass or want to review a sermon? – Sunday sermons are now available on the parish website in text and audio — check it out! While you are at it, spend a few minutes listening to "Mead's Meanderings,” two minutes of pithy observations made each week by our interim rector about S. Stephen's.

George St. Construction making progress! – Thanks for your patience while Brown University continues its construction work on George St. There is a total of 5 parking spaces available to S. Stephen's members on either end of the block. Let the police officer know you are on your way to daily Mass or have business in the office. You should have a yellow S. Stephen's placard on your dashboard if using these spaces (available in the office).
