ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to S. Stephen’s – especially to our visitors and guests! We’re glad to have you with us. Please join us for the Annual Parish Barbecue following the 10 a.m. Mass in the Great Hall upstairs. If you have any questions or special needs, please speak to one of the ushers, who will be glad to assist you.

Flowers at the High Altar – are given to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for the musical offerings of the Schola Cantorum over the past year and the ministry of Sunday School teachers Modu Johnson and Kate Lester.

Annual Parish Barbecue – is this Sunday 23 June in the Great Hall, immediately following the 10 am Solemn Mass. If you have not yet volunteered, it is still not too late to help with set-up and clean-up efforts. Please come for a time of fellowship with your fellow parishioners.

Sunday School Recognition – Also this Sunday 23 June at the 10 am Solemn Mass, we will recognize the students and teachers who participated in the Sunday School program this year. Please make every effort to attend.

The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist (June 24th) – a major feast day of the church year, will be celebrated on Monday with Evening Prayer at 5:30 pm and Low Mass at 6 pm.

Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Apostles (June 29th) – a major feast day of the church year, will be celebrated on Saturday with Morning Prayer at 9:30 am and Low Mass at 10 am.

Sermons at S. Stephen’s Online – Beginning with Pentecost 2019, all sermons, including text and audio, will be available on the parish website for reading and listening at your leisure. We hope this archive of sermons will serve as a useful tool to aid you in your personal devotions.

“Mead’s Meanderings” – Beginning with the week of Trinity Sunday 2019, audio clips of Fr. Mead’s thoughts, reflections, and announcements for the coming Sunday (and week following) will be posted on the parish website under “Mead’s Meanderings.” Please give them a listen and tell us what you think!

Bible Study on Acts – Continuing on Sunday 23 June at 9 am, Fr. Mead is conducting a Bible Study centered around the book of the Acts of the Apostles. The group meets in the Great Hall today, and henceforth, it will meet in the Library. We are using Bibles from the church, so all you need to bring is yourself and a desire to learn and grow together. All are most welcome and invited to join in the discussion!

George Street Construction – George St. will be closed during weekday business hours until mid-August and parking between Thayer St. and Brown St. with no vehicle access to either the front or rear driveway. Parking on George St. will be restricted to 3 spots at each end. These will be marked “reserved for S. Stephen's.” If you are attending a noontime weekday Mass or have business in the church office, please get a "S. Stephen's Parking Pass" from the office and place it on your dashboard if you use these spots. George St. will reopen to two-way traffic around 4 pm each day, including access to our driveways for evenings and weekends.
