PARISH NOTES
Sunday 28 May 2017

Ascension of Christ

FROM THE RECTOR

On the Sunday after Ascension we celebrate and reflect on the great mystery that the One who came down from heaven to share our human nature and to participate in every stage of human life -- from conception and birth to suffering and death -- has now ascended into heaven to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. In him, human nature itself has been healed, restored, forgiven, resurrected, and glorified. Where he has gone before us, we in turn hope to follow; because he has shared in our life in this world we have the promise of sharing in his life in the next. -- Fr. John D. Alexander
